Sobela Ocean Aquarium
In July 2020, the collaborative team of Benson Method, VISOR Consulting, and CBC Real Estate Group was selected via competitive selection process to serve as the Construction Management (Owner’s Representative) Team for the Kansas City Zoo’s new Aquarium Exhibit.
The primary goal of the project is to show numerous aquatic species from many biomes found throughout the world. The new 68,000 SF building will have an impressive footprint on the Zoo’s campus, holding 600,000 gallons of water and featuring 30 to 40 salt and fresh water exhibits.
Construction started in 2021 and opened to the public in late summer 2023.
