Lenexa Justice Center
In July 2021, Benson Method was part of a collaborative team selected to serve as the Construction Management (Owner’s Representative) Team for the new Lenexa Justice Center project.
Construction is currently underway on the 36-acre site located at Prairie Star Parkway and Britton Street, a short distance south from Lenexa City Center. The project is comprised of two buildings and will be home to Lenexa’s Police Headquarters including offices, evidence processing, staff support and training in addition to, information technology, communications unit, training and vehicle storage and a firing range. The buildings will also house municiple court and other public spaces.
The Justice Center plans stem from a 2020 facility study that found Lenexa would benefit from building its new facility on an undeveloped site, where construction would not impact public safety operations and cost 8% to 10% less than a phased renovation of the city’s present complex.
