DESCRIPTION

Homeroom Health and is a collaboration between Cornerstone of Care and KC Care Clinic located at the historic Wonder Bread building. This project was created to provide healthcare for community families, teens, infants, children and young adults in a safe and secure environment with or without Medicaid or insurance.

Programming included primary care rooms, dental exams, behavioral health and a ‘hangout’ space for teens and young adults to stop in for a cup of coffee, charge a phone or help them get the support they need to chase their dreams.

COC vision was to have a modern, interesting, age and gender-neutral feel that would appeal to all visitors. In order to accomplish this goal, we kept the ‘warehouse’ feel by exposing concrete floors and existing brick walls, enhanced the oversized large columns and left the walls with a clean white finish.

To add interest and color we infused their branding colors into the rooms with an accent stripe, introduced a gender/age neutral mural by a local artist and placed a chalkboard in the waiting room to engage kids and help them relax in what is typically a high stress environment.
